Check out our Intro to River Paddling Clinic
If you have ever wanted to take your paddling skills to the river then join Badfish Team Rider Reta Boychuk with local NHX Tina Currie as they introduce you to the world of river paddling. Included are three full days of river instruction, rescue and safety skills. Depending on conditions this course will take place on the Mamquam and Squamish Rivers where you will have the opportunity to apply your skills on different river systems.
Day one will focus on flatwater strokes for river paddling, foot positioning, self and group rescue and the skills needed to build comfort and confidence on moving water. The next two days are on moving water and will combine dryland and on water training which includes decision making, river reading, hazards evaluation, group management, ferries, eddies and river running.
This is a super fun weekend with great instructors and like minded people. You will leave the weekend with your Paddle Canada River 1 Skills Cert, a new set of foundational skills and connections that will set you up for future river running success.
This clinic will also give you the opportunity to try out the some of the new Badfish products including the Monarch and the industry leading RiverShred line of inflatables. This is going to be a super fun weekend of learning and time spent living the river life!
